first anniversary part one
| Feb 1, 2010welcome to a fun a ‘first annivesary party’ that i had the pleasure of doing with amorology weddings. this was such a fun project to work on and many people were involved and i am just so excited to share it with you. you can also see style me pretty, for their feature.
the setting:
a first anniversary dinner party in orange groves in north county san diego, ca
the attire:
each couple is wearing thier origional wedding attire to remember their wedding day. we wanted the attire to be done in a more fun casual way. what would you do it you could retake your photos after one year?
(the actual attire is mostly second hand. vintage suits on the men and gowns are vintage and/or second hand. some attire is anthropologie as well.)

the table:
we wanted it to be as if each couple brought their own elements from their wedding. so there are lots of colors, different chairs, even different plates. we imagined them sharing their own personal touches at the dining table and creating a tapestry of textures, mix and match china patterns, hand-stitched napkins and dining chairs from each of the couples trusso as we set a charmingly elegant table. gold and crystal candelbras add to the warm glow of candlelight alongside the vintage lace wrapped votives. soft peonies, kale, rununculous, lizzy, and garden roses filled a rusty bucket and sat among 3 cake toppers from each of the couples weddings – to be eaten on the first anniversary as the couples shared highlights from their first year of marriage. little paper flages that read “happily ever after” were placed in oranges upon each plate as a nod to both the present and future of their relationships.
vintage hankerchiefs hung from twine and wood clothespins across the orange trees, creating a lovely sheer backdrop.
{this is from amorology weddings. it was such a pleasure working with them. i was amazed how they took our vision and made it come to life. if you are looking for a wedding coordinator, please go to their site.)

the amazing hair and make-up was done by my sister kami christensen. she is seriously incredible at what she does and i have never seen anything more lovely. the hairpieces are from one of my most favorite etsy stores feather and frills.

the wonderful peppermint cloud donated some boutonnieres. they are amazing and actually custom made oranges just for our shoot. i adore their store, please check it out. also see our contest- as we will be giving some of these boutonnieres away.
also from esty- me and metilda gave us the awesome orange bow tie. i am just loving bow ties these days and they have a store full of them!
the flowers were all done by twigg bontanicals. she did such a lovely job!

i also wanted to put a plug in for my cute brother. the couple below is yes, my little brother and his cute wife. they did actually get married one year ago and will be celebrating their one year anniversary next week. they were so sweet to come out from arizona to model for us. ben is a photographer in arizona and is really doing some awesome wo
